International organizations and their experience in dealing with publication ethics

Publication in the profile journal is the final and one of the most critical stages of the research. From these publications are expected detailed and fair presentations of the results of the research: scientists must to guarantee that their publication is right, balanced and accurate, avoiding incomplete or incorrect statement of the facts and publication of research results that can be misleading colleagues and readers.
The article presents data on the activities of international organizations, whose task is the development, distribution and support of the principles and rules for participants of the process of scientific publications: authors, reviewers, editors, publishers, and readers. In particular, author paid attention on the activity of Committee on Publication Ethics (СORE), which enjoys the largest world recognition and respect; outlined the main points of the most important documents of the Committee – “Code of Conduct and Best Practice Guidelines for Journal Editors” and “Code of Conduct for Journal Publishers”.
Author of article also draws attention to the latest guidelines of the International Committee of Medical Journals Editors (ICMJE) entitled “Recommendations for the Conduct, Reporting, Editing, and Publication of Scholarly work in Medical Journals”, which are created to determine the most important practical and ethical standards for research and preparation their results and other materials for publication in medical journals, and to help authors, editors and other participants of the publication process in creation and distribution of accurate, clear, unbiased and reproducible medical articles.
Also has been discussion in regards of the organization of the social structure – committee on publication ethics in the country, whose main purpose is to promote activities aimed at solving problems in the field of ethics of scientific publications. That work with considering of international experience must significantly improved the quality of journals, increase their credibility in the international scientific community, enhance citation Ukrainian journals and researchers, and enlarge of the domestic and foreign audience of the authors and readers.
