Abstract

Histologic analysis of ovarian tissue at polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS) identified specific markers that are pathogenic factors in the case of chronic anovulation. Immunohistochemical research of expression sex hormones receptors in the ovarian tissue in PCOS showed characteristic changes of the expression of estrogen (ER) and progesterone receptors (PR) in the stroma and follicles There was revealed that changes of the expression of sex hormones in the follicles and ovarian stroma can play the important role in the process of folliculogenesis and fertility for women with PCOS.
