Mechanisms of iron deficiency formation and modern approach to administration of oral iron forms

The review of literature presents the modern understanding of the mechanisms of formation of iron deficiency and an analysis of the problem of destination pathogenesis based treatment for iron deficiency anemia (IDA). A brief comparative analysis of the iron-containing drugs, which are used in Ukraine describes the modern principles of treatment of IDA. The conclusion is that for adequate treatment with iron modern medicine can successfully achieve positive clinical effect. The article presents data on the high efficacy and good tolerability in the treatment of IDA of iron preparations, which are based on hydroxide polymaltose complexes.Published
