Congenital defects of development – contribution to children’s morbidity and disability, approaches to prevention
Keywords:
congenital malformations, newborns, pregnant, nutrition, preventionAbstract
One of the most important reasons for the formation of structural anomalies during the prenatal period is the lack of nutrients in the diet of a pregnant woman, such as folates, iodine and docosahexaenoic acid. The new generation of vitamins is the unique vitamin and mineral complex Femibion, presented in two forms: for women planning pregnancy and pregnant women up to 12 weeks of gestation. The conducted studies on the efficacy of prescribing Femibion to lactating women have reliably proven the beneficial effect of docosahexaenoic acid on the morph functional development of the child, his cogitative activity, the visual analyzer and motility in newborns with prolongation and in children at later stages of life.
