Abstract

Clinical study to assess the effi cacy of intrauterine administration of granulocyte colony stimulating factor (G-CSF, a drug Filstim) in patients with a thin

endometrium (< 7 mm), resistant to traditional treatments was performed.

The study included 38 women with endometrium thickness < 7 mm, aged 35 to 46 years who received human chorionic gonadotropin. Women in this group were held all programs fertilization in vitro. Patients were randomized into two groups. 25 women was administrated Filstim, 13 women the standard endometrial preparation was performed using etenilestradiol, pentoxifylline, sildenafi l citrate. Clinical pregnancy was evaluation criteria. The results showed that G-CSF promotes thickening of the endometrium. Pregnancy in the group of Filstim occurred in 8 (32%) women. In the control group only in one (15%) women.

The authors concluded that G-CSF use is a promising new method for solving the problem of resistant thin endometrium. However, further randomized

control studies are needed to confi rm the eff ectiveness of this method
