Abstract

The fi rst study in Ukraine on the analysis of the level of brain natriuretic peptide (BNP) in pregnancy in women with congenital heart defects was performed. The results of this study showed that the level of BNP is a valuable diagnostic and prognostic marker of heart failure and a predictor of pregnancy complications in women with congenital heart defects. Due the value of BNP growth in pregnancy it can predict the tactics of pregnancy, timing and nature of the delivery, to develop individual therapy indications for maintenance of pregnancy.
