PY - 2014/12/19 Y2 - 2024/03/29 TI - Vitamin D: potential clinical decisions in doctor practice JF - REPRODUCTIVE ENDOCRINOLOGY JA - RE VL - 0 IS - 20 SE - Laboratory diagnosis DO - 10.18370/2309-4117.2014.20.105-108 UR - https://reproduct-endo.com/article/view/37964 SP - 105-108 AB - <p>It is proved that vitamin D plays a role in the prevention and treatment of many diseases such as immunodeficiency status, anemia, diabetes melitus, various pathological conditions of the liver, gastrointestinal tract, cardiovascular system, tuberculosis, tumors of breast, bowel, etc. Also it was found that vitamin D modulates reproductive processes in women particularly affects steroidogenesis of estradiol and progesterone, and anti-Mullerian hormone in healthy women.<br />Therefore, at examining patient clinicians should determine the expediency of laboratory assays of the level of vitamin D.<br />According to the recommendation of the European Society of Endocrinology (2011) vitamin D deficiency is established at blood levels of its active metabolite 25(OH)D less than 20 ng/mL (&lt; 50 nmol/l), failure –21–29 ng/ml (50–75 nmol/l).</p> ER -
