Abstract

Pregnantare in particular risk of developing iron-deficiency anemia as a result of the increasing need in trace elements during gestation. According to WHO recommendations for the prevention of iron deficiency anemia, pregnant as early as possible, no later than the I trimester and during hole pregnancy appointed iron supplements in a dose of 60 mg iron in a day. Among the oral medication for the treatment of iron deficiency anemia should be preferred non-ionic iron preparations on the basis of the hydroxide polymaltose complex of ferric iron.
